Bluewater Cruising Sails

mauri sails bluewater sailsMauri Sails offers the Bluewater Navigator three different sail styles:

Mauri MZ4 Voyager Dacron Sails are designed to meet the demands of offshore sailing. They are bluewater sails for the serious cruiser heading on a transatlantic passage, cruising the South Pacific or for the sailor willing to spend time in open water drifting along whales or enjoying the spray of a 45 knots gale force winds. Our MZ4 Bluewater Cruising Sails are constructed with sailcloth that will stand up to the demands of long-distance cruising.

Mauri MX4 Custom Axis Laminates: MX4 sails are built with a new generation of modern high tech laminates. They are an asymmetric, multi axial laminate sailcloth, ideal for high performance cruising. MX4 - performance with longevity. Read more.

Sails Details Overview

Stitching

All seams on Mauri bluewater sails are double or triple-stitched as required. Mauri Sails uses specially constructed synthetic cloth woven or laminates with fibers that increase strength, UV protection and longevity that will stand up to the demands of long-distance cruising.

Detailing
We use heavy-duty, fiberglass battens for longer sail life. Details, such as batten end closures, feature easy adjustment and extra chafe protection are with in specs for bluewater cruising. Every Mauri Sail is built to endure and to perform in a wide wind range of wind and sea conditions.

Reinforcing

Long reinforced patches that will take the high-loads of the head, tack, and clew. Our sailmakers reinforce wear-and-tear areas around the batten pockets, slides, and reef points. Reinforcements around hardware attachments; anti-chaffing on seam coatings, stanchions and spreaders patches when required.
